This website

The website sets no cookies and loads nothing from other companies: no analytics services, no advertising, no fonts or scripts from third parties. Its server keeps no log of visits: it does not record the address a request came from or your browser.

The website counts page views and clicks on its buttons, with no cookies and no identifier kept on your device. For each one it records the page, which button was clicked, the name of the website that sent you, any campaign tags in the link, whether you are on a phone, tablet or computer, the country when our host provides it, the time, and a random number for that one page view, so its clicks are counted with it. If your browser sends Do Not Track or Global Privacy Control, it counts nothing. Apart from those counts, the only thing the website stores is the early access list below, and only if you join it.

The live fixtures and standings on the home page are fetched by our own server from the Hoops backend. Your browser only talks to this site.

The early access list

If you give us your email address for early access, we store the address, the time, and which form you used, in a file on this site's own server that only the site operator can read. We use it to send you two emails: one when the first test version is ready (test versions install through TestFlight, Apple's free app for trying apps before release), and one when Hoops launches on the App Store. We use it for nothing else, and we do not share it, sell it or add it to any other list.

  • Lawful basis: your consent, given when you join the list. The form says what the two emails are beside the button that sends it.
  • Retention: the list is deleted when Hoops launches on the App Store, or earlier if the test version is cancelled. Your own email address goes sooner if you ask.
  • Your rights: you can withdraw consent, ask what we hold or ask us to delete your email address at any time by writing to hello@gethoops.app. We act within 30 days, usually much sooner.
  • Rate limiting: to stop abuse the server keeps a short-lived, salted hash of the network address that submitted the form, for one hour. The address itself is not stored.

The Hoops app

Draft. The app uses one backend, Hoops' own project hosted by Supabase in London, and no third-party analytics or advertising software. You can browse everything as a guest. An account (Sign in with Apple or an email code) is needed to like, comment, post and receive server notifications. Notification preferences and follows are stored with your account; game reminders set on your device stay on the device. The full policy for the app will be published here before the App Store release.

Who we are

Hoops is an independent product. The controller is its founder, Kieran Zhane. Contact: hello@gethoops.app.

Get early access

Leave your email address and we will send you two emails: one when the first test version is ready this winter, and one when Hoops launches in 2027. Test versions install through TestFlight, Apple's free app for trying apps before release; we will explain that when we write.
