A player page in Hoops: the Highlights rail of the club's videos, then the Career timeline, one row per season with club, league and stat line

Your page

Your career, line by line.

Your page opens with your number, position, club and nationality, with height and age where they are published. Weight is never shown. Below come your averages, your highlights and a career built only from official sources.

  1. This season

    Your club, your numbers

Averages from Hoops' own box scores, a set for each competition you play in, and a game log you can read game by game.

  2. Every earlier season

    Only what a source confirms

Club, competition and a stat line with just the numbers the source states. A season no source confirms is left off; with nothing confirmed yet, the page says so.

  3. Honours

    Awards, with who gave them

Each title or award with its season and the body that gave it. 195 players have at least one.

  4. Sources

    One tap from the original

Every career and award line opens its source: a club biography, a league or club release, Basketball England or FIBA.

430

player careers

Season by season, each line with its official source.

195

players with awards

Each award with its season and awarding body.

Your highlights, tagged to you

Clubs, leagues and creators publish on Hoops as themselves. When one of them posts a video it can tag the players in it from the team's roster, and the clip goes into the Highlights on each player's page. On 2 November, 41 official highlight videos were tagged to 29 players. Fans can follow you as they follow a club, and the creators who post about you are suggested to them.

Tags and mentions, on your terms

Anyone with a Hoops ID can be tagged in a post or a photo, or mentioned by their handle. You decide what reaches your profile, the way you would on Instagram, from Account, then Tags and mentions.

Who can tag you
Everyone, accounts you follow, or nobody. Tagging yourself always works.
Approve tags manually
Off unless you turn it on. Then a new tag waits until you approve it or hide it from your profile.
Show mentions on your profile
On unless you turn it off. It decides whether posts that mention you appear under Tagged.
The Scorekeeper control room for a pickup game: the score, the clock and buttons to record each play

Your games

Your games, on the record.

League games are scored only from the official feed. The Scorekeeper is for your games.

League games

Box scores and play by play come from the leagues' official statistics feed for every finished game it covers, and nobody can score or change a league game by hand in the app. Your averages are built from those box scores, a set for each competition you play in, with a game log beneath.

Pickup and non-league games

Anyone signed in can start a game. Name the two teams, start the clock and record each basket, free throw, rebound, assist, steal, block, turnover and foul, for the team or for a player. The box score and play by play build as you go, and anyone with the game open sees them move.

Use the same team names each time and a regular run keeps its record. These games stay out of the league tables, the leaders and the season statistics.

Claim your player profile in Hoops, shown from the app's test build: your club gives each player a code, eight letters and numbers like K7PX-M4QD, with Claim profile below

Your page, verified

Claim your page with a code.

Your club holds the key: a code that makes your page yours and puts the verified mark beside your name.

  1. 1. A code from your clubYour club's Hoops account issues one for each player on its roster: eight letters and numbers, like K7PX-M4QD. It works once and lasts 14 days.
  2. 2. Sign up with itChoose "I'm a player: sign up with a club code", enter the code, your email address and a password, then confirm your email address from the link we send.
  3. 3. You are verifiedA check mark sits beside your name on your profile, your tags and your comments, and you can post stories as yourself.
  4. 4. Your page, in your wordsAdd a bio, a headshot and your Instagram and X. Your club keeps your team, number, position and height up to date.

Already have a Hoops ID? Claim from Account with "Claim your player profile". No code yet? "Are you this player?" on your page asks your club for one, and the page shows when it is on its way.

Edit profile in Hoops, shown from the app's test build with a fictional fan's account: the photo in a blue ring, the name and handle, the display name and handle fields and the favourite team card

Your profile

Edit profile, on its own screen.

Your photo sits large in a blue ring, with your name and handle as others will read them. Your handle is checked as you type, your favourite team shows in its colours, and the tag and mention settings are on the same screen. Your name, handle and photo change only when you tap Save.

Once you have claimed your page, the same screen has your bio, your Instagram and X, and a card for your player page with the facts your club keeps.

Something wrong or missing

Correct your page.

Email hello@gethoops.app with your name, your club and what is wrong or missing. Parents can write on behalf of a young player.

If you have a source (a club biography, a league or club release, a Basketball England or FIBA page), send the link. A line goes on a page only when an official source confirms it, so we check every change against one.

If you would rather something were not on your page, say so in the same email.

Get Hoops.

The first test version is planned for this winter. The App Store launch is planned for 2027. For iPhone and iPad on iOS 18 or later.

Leave your email address and we will send you two emails: one when the first test version is ready this winter, and one when Hoops launches in 2027. Test versions install through TestFlight, Apple's free app for trying apps before release; we will explain that when we write.
