The score of a game

Paste this where the score should appear. Use the id of the game: it is the last part of the game's page address on Hoops, https://gethoops.app/live/<game id>, and today's games link to every game's page.

<div data-hoops-score="96b2a0dc-201c-5ad3-ba17-db4555d5cd0c"></div>
<script src="https://gethoops.app/embed/score.js" async></script>
This is the live widget, running now.
  • While the game is live the card checks for a new score every 10 seconds. In the two hours before tip-off it checks every 30 seconds, so it turns live by itself, and a finished game stays as it is.
  • data-theme="light" gives a light card for a light site. The default is dark.
  • Without a div, use the script on its own: <script src="https://gethoops.app/embed/score.js?game=96b2a0dc-201c-5ad3-ba17-db4555d5cd0c" async></script> draws the card where the script is.

A league table

data-hoops-standings takes the competition's code, such as SLB, SLBW, BCB, NBL1 or WNBL1.

<div data-hoops-standings="SLB"></div>
<script src="https://gethoops.app/embed/standings.js" async></script>
This is the live widget, running now.
  • It shows this season's table. To pin a season, add data-season="<season id>", for example data-season="7a187533-4f02-522e-ac23-296aaf02650e"; current is the default.
  • data-rows="5" shows only the top five of each pool, and data-theme="light" gives a light table.
  • The table refreshes every minute while the page is open.

If your site cannot run scripts

Use a frame instead. It shows the same card or table and refreshes itself in the same way.

<iframe src="https://gethoops.app/embed/score/96b2a0dc-201c-5ad3-ba17-db4555d5cd0c" title="Live score from Hoops" width="100%" height="190" style="border:0;max-width:460px" loading="lazy"></iframe>
<iframe src="https://gethoops.app/embed/standings/SLB/current" title="League table from Hoops" width="100%" height="560" style="border:0" loading="lazy"></iframe>

Add ?theme=light to a frame's address for the light version and ?rows=5 to a table's to limit its rows. The score card is about 190 pixels high and a table about 40 pixels for each row it shows, plus 100.

How it behaves

  • The widget draws itself in a shadow root with styles of its own, so your site's CSS cannot change it and its CSS cannot change your site.
  • It sets no cookie, stores nothing in the visitor's browser and does not track anyone. It asks this site for the score, so Hoops sees the request as any website does, and nothing else is loaded.
  • Nothing is fetched while the visitor's tab is in the background.
  • A page that adds the div after the script has run, such as a single page app, calls HoopsEmbed.scan() once the div is in place.
  • Clubs appear as their colours and their three-letter code. The widget links to the game on Hoops and carries "Powered by Hoops"; please leave both in place. Club names and colours belong to the clubs, and Hoops is independent of every league and club.
